We must admit, we are on Cloud 9 these days! YEP, we won big time in San Francisco.
Founded in 2000, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the oldest and largest competition of its kind. And we couldn’t be prouder to learn that the highly-respected panel of judges awarded our four uncategorized core spirits with the highest medals, monopolizing the podium!
It is a true testament to the incredible work carried out by our amazing team who is constantly pushing to share with you the most evocative and delicious uncategorized flavors.

DOUBLE GOLD FOR AYUUK
Our Pasilla Mixe spirit grabbed the highest accolade, shedding some light on this very special chili, and the centuries-long traditions of the Mixe community of the Sierra Norte Mountains in Oaxaca, Mexico. Needless to say, Ayuuk Margaritas will be pouring non-stop to celebrate this big win!
SILVER FOR SYMPHONY 6
Silver looks good on Symphony 6! Showcasing 6 underutilized leaves and unique ingredients, our aromatic summer favorite is an all-around winner! Just as perfectly delicious with tonic as in a Negroni. We can’t get enough of it!
BRONZE FOR SOKA
Pretty stoked to see that one of our newest members of the Empirical family got the bronze medal, bringing the incredibly versatile and often underappreciated sorghum cane to the forefront of the conversation. And of course a big shout out to the amazing labor of Brenda & Rich Wittgreve and our friends at Central Standard Craft Distillery for making it possible. Now, it’s time for a Super Soka!
BRONZE FOR THE PLUM, I SUPPOSE
And here comes another win for our marzipan-forward The Plum, I Suppose. This one was a tough cookie to bring to life, always tweaking and learning how to make each batch better than the last. So yay, pumped to see our hard work pay off! A Plum, Collins anyone?
